Itinerary summary

DAY 1-4:
Start of safari in Johannesburg and flight to Skukuza Airport
– Welcome to the โ€œrainbow nationโ€ of South Africa! Your fantastic Bush and Beach getaway will start today as you land in Johannesburg at the O.R. Tambo International Airport.

You will then make your way to domestic departures for your flight to Skukuza Airport.

โ€œKrugerโ€, as the locals call it, covers a vast area of 19,485 km2 (7,523 sq miles) and extends 360 kilometres (220 mi) from north to south and 65 kilometres (40 mi) from east to west. It is the tenth largest game reserve on earth. Areas of the park were first protected by the government of South Africa in 1898, and it became South Africaโ€™s first national park in 1926. It is now part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a peace park that links Kruger National Park with the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe and the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique.

Over the next three days, you will dive into thrilling adventures at Kruger National Park, where you can explore the captivating wildlife and flora of this natural paradise. Engage in exhilarating morning and evening game drives, as well as exciting, guided walks that will bring the wonders of nature to life. In addition to your adventures, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to unwind and relax in the serene atmosphere of your lovely lodge.

A gentle knock on the door signals the beginning of a new adventure. Start your morning with a steaming cup of coffee, followed by a luxurious game drive through Kruger National Park. Led by expert guides and traditional Shangaan trackers, these drives promise wildlife sightings that will exceed your wildest dreams.

As you embark on your safari, keep your eyes peeled for the majestic African Big Five, along with various other remarkable animals. The late afternoon game drive offers a perfect opportunity to witness the breathtaking African sunset while enjoying refreshing sundowner drinks in some of South Africaโ€™s most stunning landscapes.

For those seeking an immersive experience, optional walking safaris are available daily, guided by skilled and armed game trackers. After the evening safari and enjoying sundowners while watching the African sun go down behind the mighty bush, you will drive back to the lodge for pre-dinner drinks and a delicious one-of-a-kind dinner prepared by the chef.

DAY 5-8:
Onwards to Vilanculos in Mozambique
– After your safari adventure, it is time to hit the beach.

This morning after your scrumptious breakfast you will be on your way to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport for your direct flight to Vilanculos Airport in Mozambique.

Vilanculos is a small coastal town in the subtropical province of Inhambane, Mozambique. Vilankulo lies approximately 700 km north of Maputo and 500 km south of Beira. The town, with friendly people and a lively atmosphere, offers the perfect base from which to explore the picturesque Bazaruto Archipelago and the Bazaruto National Park. The marine reserve includes five islands โ€“ Santa Carolina (also known as Paradise Island), Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque and Bangue.

The Archipelago offers some of the world’s best snorkeling, diving and big-game fishing. The islands are pristine in their natural beauty and have diverse ecologies. The coral reefs are profuse with a diversity of tropical fish and turtles and are amongst the most pristine in the Western Indian Ocean.

No matter what you decide to do make sure to wiggle your toes in the white sands of Vilanculos beach or spend your days snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, or simply sunbathing on the beach. Explore the small town of Vilanculos or the islands of the Archipelago and immerse yourself in the culture of Mozambique. DAY 9:
Departure
– All great things must come to an end. You will have the morning to do your last exploring or just soak up the beach one more time before your transfer to Vilanculos Airport and your flight back to Johannesburg for your onward flight home.
